For homeowners
Ready to say goodbye to gas and oil?
The ElephantONE is made for you: heating, power and storage in one unit outside the house.
Is the ElephantONE right for you?
- Existing building or new build? The ElephantONE works in both — even with radiators in older homes. Find out
- Want to say goodbye to oil and gas? See what switching means for your home. Try the calculator
- Want to pay less for heating, for good? Your own solar power, a battery and smart control lower your running costs. See running costs
- Have 2.6 m² of space in the garden? That's all the ElephantONE needs — the plant room inside is freed up. More space at home
More space at home
Your former plant room stays free
Heat pump, storage, battery and pipework used to fill the house — now they stand outside, with no building work inside.
- No plant room needed Heat pump, battery, storage and controls stand completely outdoors.
- Only 2.6 m² footprint In the garden or against the wall — no work inside the house.
- Battery outdoors Lower fire risk inside your home.
Savings calculator
How much do you save with the ElephantONE compared with your gas boiler?
Three short questions — and you'll see what switching to a heat pump, battery and your own solar power means for your bills. No sign-up needed, and all assumptions are shown.
Your home
We estimate your heat demand from living space and year of construction. If you know your gas consumption, the estimate gets more precise.
Your household
For a family, hot water makes up a noticeable share of the heat demand.
Your electricity
The ElephantONE combines heat pump, battery and inverter. With your own solar PV, a large part of your heating runs on solar power.
Your result
Your home has a high heat demand — we would rather work it out with you personally.
Based on your details, the heat load is around . That is at the upper end of what a single ElephantONE covers. Whether and how our system suits you (for example after a partial renovation) is best clarified in a short conversation with a heat load calculation.
Annual costs compared
Details and assumptions
What adds up over 15 years
How we calculated — our assumptions (adjustable)
Simplified estimate for single- and two-family homes up to a heat load of about 14 kW; heat demand from typical consumption values per construction-year class or from your gas consumption. Savings = annual running costs of your gas boiler (continued operation: gas incl. CO₂ price plus flat ancillary costs such as standing charge, maintenance and chimney sweep) − annual running costs of the ElephantONE (electricity plus flat ancillary costs); 15-year value with rising energy prices, not discounted. Running costs are compared. For the full lifetime cost comparison (investment, subsidy, maintenance, energy — the total cost), talk to us: in a consultation we calculate your home individually with a heat load calculation and your subsidy case.
All figures are non-binding estimates based on typical consumption data and the assumptions stated (as of October 2026); they do not replace a heat load calculation. BEG subsidy subject to individual eligibility.
Running costs
Up to 30 % lower running costs
An estimate, not a promise: how much you actually save depends on the individual case — including your own PV system, your electricity tariff and whether reduced grid fees under Section 14a EnWG (German Energy Industry Act) apply.
-
PV connection
Your own solar power is used first — reducing what you draw from the grid.
-
Dynamic electricity prices
The battery charges when prices are low and supplies energy when they rise.
-
Reduced grid fees under Section 14a
Under suitable conditions, grid fees can be reduced under Section 14a EnWG — depending on the grid operator and the connection.

The app
All at a glance, easy to use
Your system thinks ahead: one central system controls heating, hot water, battery and solar PV together — and you keep track of it all in one app.
- Easy to use Adjust temperatures with a tap and see the energy flow live — at home or on the move.
- More independence Store your own solar power and use it for heating, hot water and the household. Less grid power, more self-consumption.
- Uses cheap power automatically Charges the battery and heats when power is cheap or the sun is shining — fully automatically.
BAFA-listed and therefore eligible for funding
The ElephantONE is listed with the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA).
Frequently asked questions
Questions from homeowners
Is the ElephantONE just a heat pump?
No — the ElephantONE is more than a heat pump: heat pump, battery, storage and controls are pre-integrated in one unit that stands outside the house, rather than being combined from separate parts on site.
How much space does the ElephantONE need?
Just 2.6 m² of outdoor footprint (2.06 × 1.31 m), with a height of 2.06 m and a net weight of around 1.3 tonnes unfilled. Your former plant room inside the house is freed up. Our partner plans the exact position together with you.
Is the ElephantONE's heating output enough for my home?
The rated heat output is 11.8 kW, plus a 6 kW electric backup heater if needed. Whether that is enough for your home depends on its individual heat load — our partners check this case by case.
Does the ElephantONE work in older homes with radiators?
Yes — flow temperatures of up to 75 °C are possible, and at 55 °C the unit reaches energy efficiency class A++. That makes it suitable for many existing buildings; we check the individual case with you.
I already have a PV system — does the ElephantONE fit with it?
Our hybrid inverter accepts up to 20 kW of PV power (DC) via three MPPT trackers. How an existing system is integrated is clarified case by case.
Does the ElephantONE work with dynamic electricity tariffs?
Yes, the ElephantONE is designed for it: battery (24.6 kWh) and hot water tank (315 litres) charge when the electricity price is low and supply energy when it rises. Control is handled by Kiwigrid's energy management. We cannot promise specific savings here.
Is the ElephantONE controllable under Section 14a?
Yes, the ElephantONE is controllable under Section 14a EnWG — this does, however, have to be checked case by case.
